Buy an Estate Sale Franchise?
As a franchisor, we know the benefits of buying a franchise instead of starting an estate sale company from scratch because we’ve been there. Before Grasons Co. became a nationally recognized estate sale franchise, it was a local estate sale company that started in Orange County CA.
After years of investing financially, physically, and emotionally, Grasons Co. earned its reputation and decided to implement a proven system that help others grow. It took years to create the “road to success map” and now there are over 20 estate sale franchise locations nationwide. Even the New York Times took notice and published a full article relating to the Grasons Co. brand.
But why hear it from us? Our editor reached out to Joe and Marci, the owners of Grasons Co. of Southern Arizona, and the newest members to join the family of estate sale locations. They hit the ground running pretty quick after their full week of on-site training at the Huntington Beach corporate headquarters. They had sales booked almost instantly and have not stopped since.

During the interview, our editor asked them why they didn’t build an estate sale business of their own and decided to buy a franchise instead?
Marci said “We had owned a franchise in the past and we had started our own company in the past so we were well aware of the difference. Either way, owning your own business is a tremendous amount of work, but with a franchise you have expertise, branding, training, and support from the very beginning. This allows you as new business owners to begin getting incoming business right away, which in turn allows you to hop skip ahead of people who start this on their own”.
What attracted you to the Grasons Co. brand instead of other companies?
Joe Replied “Grasons has had enormous success to date. We spoke with Simone Kelly and several other franchisees and really liked how transparent they were. We liked how friendly they were, how they were honest and upfront, and their focus on being a Grasons family. We live on the West Coast in Arizona, and it is very helpful that our home office is so close. They have an established brand and what I liked most is Simone Kelly has worked within the estate sale industry itself and uses that bridge to retain a lot of business.”

Did the training cover all the details and information you were hoping to gain?
“Honestly, if one week of training could cover everything it wouldn’t be a very difficult job! The one week was packed and seems like a blur now, but it gave us the motivation and encouragement to believe we could do this as well as the basics to get started. We left the home office knowing that we had a team behind us. We have not been disappointed since we came back. We can call and reach out to several people at any time and they are there to support us as we grow.” Said Marci
Grasons Co prides itself on franchise support services, have you needed support as a new franchisee and how was your experience?
“Yes, we have! The staff in the home office are always a phone call, text, or email away. They’ve been very responsive and extremely helpful as we grow our business.” said Joe
Two months into it now, how do you feel about your new venture and would you recommend it to others and why?
Joe replied “I would definitely recommend an estate sale franchise. We are a family business and getting to work together as a family helping other families is such a blessing and a responsibility we all don’t take lightly. It’s a lot of work but so rewarding. You get to see the home from the start when you clean, stage, price, run the sale and then liquidate all the belongings. All the while, meeting amazing client, and buyers. This can be a very daunting task for most clients and highly emotional as well, so the feeling of knowing you are helping in some small way is so gratifying.”
